Joanne, we are in the same situation. Substances that remove the old sealant can be pretty harsh and toxic. We used Krud Kutter, a non-toxic biodegradable cleaner with a steel wool brush to clean the grout and the tile and still weren't happy with the results. Stripping old sealant is expensive professionally done. I obtained a free estimate for cleaning and resealing from a super professional, Chris Allen, General Manager.
